The tournament was slated to hold in Cameron from January 9, 2021, but is now moved to January 2022 due to the adverse effect of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic that has ravaged the world in recent times.

The 2020 CHAN initially slated for last April also in Cameroon has equally been moved to 2021.

Also, the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup semi-finals and finals will be a one- legged tie and will be played in Cameroon and Morocco respectively.

CAF also cancelled the African Women’s Cup of Nations and inaugurated a new women’s Champions League, which would begin in 2021.
