Coronavirus: UK Govt To Review Lockdown Restrictions By End Of April

The government of the United Kingdom has said that it would review the nationwide lockdown by the end of the month.

This was disclosed by Dominic Raab, UK’s Foreign Secretary, representing the Prime Minister.

“We can’t give any definitive time frame, that would be an irresponsible thing to do,” he said at the press briefing.

He also said if government lifts up restrictions now, it would be risky.

“Relaxing any of the measures currently in place would risk damage to both public health and the economy,” he said.

He urged British citizens to keep faith as there was light at the end of the tunnel.

Reuters reports that the United Kingdom has the fifth-highest official death toll from COVID-19 in the world, after the United States, Italy, Spain and France, though British figures only cover hospital fatalities and the real number is probably much higher.
