COVID-19: Abians Laud Uche Ogah For Generous Palliative Package

Abia State citizens have commended the Minister of State for Mines and Steel, Uche Ogah, for his generous gesture towards them during the current hardship brought about by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Ogah was said to have donated 5,000 bags of 50kg rice, 200 bags of beans, 3,000 cartons of spaghetti, 2,000 cartons of noodles, hand sanitizers, among others, to various communities in the state on Saturday.

The 50-year-old native of Uturu in Abia State made the donation through his Uche Ogah Foundation.

Some excited Abia citizens took to social media to share photos of the donated items, while also thanking Ogah for his generousity.

A native of Abiriba in Ohafia local government area, Wilson Chukwu Eze, in a Facebook post, thanked Ogah, “for remembering your people in this pandemic.”

Another citizen, Victor Njoku, from Aba North, described Ogah as “a man of unquestionable integrity and exceeding benevolence,” adding that posterity will remember him for his good works in the state.

Arthur Ekeleme, from Ovim in Isuikwuato local government area, said of the politician: “One thing I love about this rare gem is that he cares about the people with all his heart.”

Ebuka Okorie, from Ozara town in Isuikwuato local government area, wrote: “One thing about Dr. Ogah is that he is not into any sort of competition with anybody. He doesn’t need anybody’s praises, he is a man with great capacity. Philanthropy runs in his blood.”

Ogah was the President/Chief Executive Officer of Masters Energy, a Nigerian conglomerate with over 15 subsidiaries in different industries.

He resigned from the board of the company following his appointment as minister by President Muhammadu Buhari in July 2019.
