According to him, the second wave of the Corona virus will not affect supplies.

He said, “We have heard of the second wave of the coronavirus, but we are also making efforts to ensure that it does not affect our distribution of petrol products.

“Just like the way the pandemic started, it will only affect our turnover as marketers, as we may not be able to control that. And you know that consumption is low due to economy downturn, the prices at which we sell will also be reduced.

“And as we enter into the festive season, we also want to assure Nigerians that there will be steady supplies of petrol.”

Similarly, the DPR cautioned oil marketers against engaging in sharp practices that are capable of distorting product supply, stating that there would be sufficient petroleum products nationwide.

DPR assured of intensified monitoring and surveillance of petroleum products outlets to ensure compliance with the quality, quantity, and safety of operations in line with its regulatory mandate.

The Department while cautioning petroleum marketers against hoarding and creating artificial scarcity of the commodity, restated its commitment to safety and advised consumers to observe all necessary safety protocols in the handling of petroleum products especially at this season of harmattan.
