David Mark’s Daughter Wins Reps Seat Against Father’s Choice

Lady Blessing Onuh, Daughter of former Senate President, David Mark has won the House of Representatives seat for the Otukpo/Ohimini federal constituency, disposing her father’s grip on the zone.

Mrs Onuh who contested under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, defeated her uncle, Egli Ahubi of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who contested against her.

Mr Ahubi who is the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly is also the cousin of Mark who has the full backing and support of the former president of the senate.

Meanwhile, Ahub has conceded defeat and congratulated Onuh.

It will be recalled that Onuh dumped PDP for APGA barely two weeks after the controversial loss of the party’s ticket for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency.

Her victory has contradicted remarks by some PDP chieftains in the constituents that she was not known before now as a member of the party and that she was only riding on her father’s influence.
