Ebonyi Bans Use Of Electronic Devices At Govt House After Leaks

The Ebonyi State Government has reportedly placed a ban on the use of electronic gadgets in the government house, particularly inside the council chambers and the office of the governor of the state.

In particular, the use of electronic equipment such as phones, laptops, iPads, voice recorders including any electron magnetic device will not be allowed “inside the executive chamber and governor’s office”, according to the ban.

The decision was taken after policies and deliberations of the state executive council were said to have leaked to opposition parties.

The recent directive was pasted at the entrance of the government house, warning that defaulters will be sanctioned.

According to Daily Trust, when the Governor of Ebonyi, David Umahi met the governing council of Ebonyi State University (EBSU) on Monday, no one was allowed into the meeting with their phones.

Journalists were also not allowed into the meeting with any electronic device.

The council met the governor over issues bothering the university.
