Edo: Ize-Iyamu Meets Buni, Bello In Abuja

The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded Edo State Governorship election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu on Wednesday, held a meeting behind closed-door with the Chairman, Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the party, Mai Mala Buni and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

The meeting was held at the private residence of Buni, who is also the governor of Yobe State.

The details of the meeting is unknown, but according to reports, both Buni and Bello had called on Ize-Iyamu to accept the outcome of the poll and move on.

Recall that the party, had on Monday, congratulated the winner of the guber poll, Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

But the APC candidate is yet to officially congratulate the governor.

Obaseki was re-elected for a second term in office after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner of the September 19th election.

While Obaseki scored 307,955 of the total votes, Ize-Iyamu got 223, 619 votes.

The margin between the duo was 84,336.

INEC Returning Officer for the poll, Professor Akpofure Rem-Rukeh, had  declared the governor as the winner on Sunday at the office of the electoral umpire in Benin City, which doubled as the final collation centre.
