EFCC Goes After Oil Bunkerers In Niger Delta

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seems to be shifting focus to illegal oil bunkering in the Niger Delta region of the country following its vow to bring perpetrators of the crime to justice.

Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu made the vow in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital while addressing the media.

According to Magu, illegal oil bunkering is a terrible leakage of the economy and the commission would not relent in fighting it.

In a series of tweets on its verified handle @officialEFCC, the EFCC boss said: “Let me also use this medium to warn all illegal oil bunkerers to desist from their nefarious operations”.

The EFCC Chairman, who was on a working visit to the Port Harcourt zonal office of the commission, said the EFCC is resolute in its fight against economic sabotage and oil theft.
