Ekiti Election: Oyebanji Wins ADC Candidate’s Polling Unit

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded victory at the polling unit of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, in the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election.

The result, announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was declared at Polling Unit 004, Ward 2, Ekiti South-West Local Government Area, where Bejide is an indigene and resident.

According to the official result sheet signed by the Presiding Officer, APC secured 140 votes to win the polling unit, while ADC polled 37 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recorded two votes.

The outcome means Bejide was defeated by the incumbent governor in his own polling unit, even as he participated in the voting process alongside other residents.

The result is among the early returns being collated from polling units across Ekiti State as INEC continues the process that will eventually lead to ward, local government, and state collation centres.

The governorship election is ongoing across the state’s 16 local government areas, with results expected to be officially aggregated and announced by the electoral commission upon completion of collation.
