#EndSARS: Cease Violent Crackdown On Protesters By Military, Joe Biden Tells Buhari

Former Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, has admonished President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on the Nigerian Military to stop the alleged killing of Nigerian protesters.

Biden disclosed this in an official statement published on his website (dated October 20), seen by THE WHISTLER.

He also condoled with the families of the bereaved.

“I urge President Buhari and the Nigerian military to cease the violent crackdown on protesters in Nigeria, which has already resulted in several deaths.

” My heart goes out to all those who have lost a loved one in the violence,” he stated.

He also stressed that the US Government must support Nigeria at this critical moment.

Meanwhile, he called for peaceful dialogue to address the concerns of Nigerians.

“The United States must stand with Nigerians who are peacefully demonstrating for police reform and seeking an end to corruption in their democracy.

” I encourage the government to engage in a good-faith dialogue with civil society to address these long-standing grievances and work together for a more just and inclusive Nigeria,” he added.

Biden is the Democratic presidential flagbearer ahead of the November 3 elections in the country.

Recall that widespread protests had trailed the activities of some personels of the disbanded Special Anti-Roberry Squad (SARS) of the Nigerian Police Force.

But, lately, the scene of demonstrations had turned violent in parts of the country.
