#EndSARS: How Pastor Sam Adeyemi’s Sermons Influenced My Marriage – Aisha Yesufu

Nigeria’s socio-political activist and co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls Movement, Aisha Yesufu, has praised the President of Daystar Christian Center, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, for the positive influence of his messages on her marriage.

“I told my husband about @sam_adeyemi ‘s message to him and he screamed that’s my pastor. He started telling me how he has his books, audio messages and reads every of his article.

“I learnt early in our marriage not to intrude into my husband’s Saturday mornings with @sam_adeyemi,” she tweeted on Monday.

Yesufu’s tweets is coming after a Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja had directed the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory to probe the pastor and 48 others, including herself, over their alleged promotion of the #EndSARS protests, which was hijacked by hoodlums.

Reacting to the development on Sunday, Yesufu noted that Adeyemi was her husband’s pastor, adding that he should not have being including in the list.

“My husband is pained that they included his pastor @sam_adeyemi and wasn’t even bothered that my name was on the list. He has been lamenting how dare they include Sam Adeyemi.”

THE WHISTLER earlier reported that the court order followed a criminal proceeding instituted against them by one Kenechukwu Okeke, an activist.

Okeke had alleged that the defendants influenced the violent turnout of the protest which led to the destruction of his property.

But the cleric himself had termed the lawsuit against him as “frivolous”.

The EndSARS protest across the country followed widespread criticism of alleged human rights violation by some Nigeria police personnel, particularly the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

On its part, the federal government disbanded the squad and set up another Special Weapons And Tactical Team(SWAT).

It also directed the state governors to establish a panel of inquiry which would look at issues related to police brutality.

The panel is currently sitting in different parts of the country.
