#EndSARS: Osun Monarch Slams ‘Unscrupulous’ Northern Politicians Working Against Protesters

The Olowu Of Owu-Kuta in Osun State, Oba Makama Oyelude (TEGBOSUN III), has commended the passion and bravery of Nigerian youths who have been organizing protests against police brutality and bad governance across the country.

Oyelude, who described the protests as legitimate, urged the youths to not allow those he called “unpatriotic politicians” infiltrate their ranks and divide them.

The Osun monarch said by their actions in the last few days, the youths have made the country proud and have shown that they have what it takes to bring the desired change.

Oyelude spoke in a video message to the youths from his palace in Owu-Kuta Kingdom, Osun state

In his words, “Don’t allow some unpatriotic politicians to cash in on what you are doing legitimately, and bring the nation to ridicule.

“All your demands have been met. We congratulate you and we congratulate ourselves. You make us proud; history will not forget you,” he said.

Oba Oyelude also slammed those he described as “unscrupulous politicians” from the northeast for allegedly speaking in support of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) despite the allegations of extra-judicial killings levelled against the police unit.

“Take for instance some faceless group in the name of north-east elders, we never saw them to support the armed forces in their onslaught against the insurgence, but because of the legitimate thing you are doing, they are cashing in on it, despite the fact that they did not support end on Police brutality.

“They openly said they prefer the SARS to be deployed to them, they did not share your feelings, they are catching in on what you are doing legitimately to play on your intelligence and blackmail the presidency, that they want the service chiefs removed,” he said.
