Enugu: Enrolment Of Retired Police Personnel Into NHIS Begins September 21st

Retired police personnel in Enugu State have been enjoined to make themselves available during the forthcoming nationwide registration and capturing of all retired police officers on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) as approved by the federal government.

The call was made by the commissioner of police, Enugu State, CP Ahmad AbdurRahman, following the directives by the inspector-general of police, IGP Mohammed Adamu.

According to a press release by the Enugu State Police Command’s public relations officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, the exercise is for all retired police officers (irrespective of their ranks on retirement), alongside their spouses, aimed at enabling them to have full access to all NHIS services and benefits covered by the Police Health Maintenance Organization (Police-HMO) code 073.

He said, “The exercise has been scheduled to hold in the five area command headquarters of the command namely: Agbani, Enugu Metro, Nsukka, Oji-River and Udenu from Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd September, 2020, by 0800hrs daily. The retirees are enjoined to visit any of the area commands close to them on the mentioned dates for the enrolment with their national identity numbers, letters of retirement, and their identity cards.”

The CP, in the statement, further urged the retirees to comply with all the Covid-19 prevention protocols, including hand washing/sanitization, maintenance of social/physical distancing and wearing of face masks during the exercise.
