EPL: Liverpool Rout Everton As United Beat Palace
Liverpool continued their fine form as they thrashed Everton 4-0 in the 221st Merseyside Derby, at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Divock Origi and Mamadou Sakho headed in two goals in a space of three-minutes at the end of the first half.
Substitute, Daniel Sturridge drove in a third before Philippe Coutinho’s curled finish completed an emphatic win for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The result means, Everton have not won at Anfield since 1999.
The victory, however, was marred with an injury to striker Divock Origi, who was stretchered off shortly after the break following a tackle which earned Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori a red card.
The forward left Anfield on crutches with manager Jurgen Klopp revealing after the game that the initial diagnosis was a “twisted ligament” rather than a broken ankle, the club is awaiting a further medical assessment of the damage.
“I’d like to say I’m 100 per cent happy but I cannot ignore the situation [with Origi],” Klopp said.

“I can’t say too much, I didn’t see the pictures until now but everyone I met said, ‘Oh, it was disgusting or awful’, or however you want to say it. But it’s not broken, it’s a twisted ankle ligament, we have to wait now.
“I saw him on crutches here walking around but he had a little smile on his face so we have to see.”
The Reds are seventh on 54 points, six points behind fourth place Arsenal – who can extend their lead with a win over West Brom on Thursday, while Everton are 11th on 41 points.
Elsewhere, Manchester United defeated Crystal palace 2-0 to move within one point of the top four.
A Damien Delaney own-goal and a Matteo Darmian’s stunning left-footed volley from the edge of the box, wrapped up points for Louis Van Gaal side, and to the delight of the Dutchman.

Speaking after the game, Van Gaal said: “Darmian was surprising me on Monday in the training session.
“We did a sort of finishing session and he was the top scorer in that time and we tried to exercise with his left and right foot and he did it also with his left foot like he did tonight. I am very happy.”
In the other result of the night, West Ham beat Watford 3-1 at the Boleyn Ground.
