Falana had filed a suit seeking to stop the army’s operation, which requires that all citizens must carry a means of identification to be able to move.

He argued that such an operation was a violation of constitutional rights to liberty.

Justice Aikawa in her ruling ordered the army to maintain the status quo pending the hearing and determination of Falana’s suit.

“In view of the agreement between counsel, I hereby order the 1st and 2nd defendants to maintain the status quo pending the determination of this case,” Justice Aikawa held and adjourned the case till November 18, 2019.
