Until his death, Olisa was a BBG account officer with our Lekki Branch. After his colleagues tried to reach him unsuccessfully when he hadn’t shown up at work, the Branch Manager received a call from his family at around 10.30 AM, informing him that Olisa sadly took his own life that morning, at his church premises. The circumstances that led to this unfortunate incident are still very unclear and are being investigated by our Control and Compliance team.

“If you receive any enquiry from the media, please direct them to the Corporate Affairs team, Diran Olojo and Lola Egboh.

“In the meantime, I wanted to reassure you that the welfare of our employees is a key priority to us. Our employee support programmes are there to help employees when dealing with difficult issues and circumstances, whether work-related or personal. We have professional counsellors available just a phone call away, to assist all FCMB employees.

“Olisa was loved by many, especially his close colleagues and friends. He is survived by his wife Adaeze, their daughter, siblings, and his dear Mother.

“We are in touch with Olisa’s family and will support their efforts as they plan for the funeral. Please remember Olisa’s family in your prayers. May God grant them strength and comfort during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace!”
