Fire Razes Filling Station, Tanker In Anambra

A fire outbreak on Friday consumed a diesel-laden tanker with registration number NKE 122 XE, and a fuel station–V. Mac Filling Station– located at Nnobi road, Nnewi in Anambra State.

Eyewitness reports said the fire was a result of electrical faults from the tanker, adding that only the driver of the trailer was on board at the time of the incident. It was gathered that no injuries were sustained.

The sector public enlightenment officer of the FRSC, Anambra State Command, SRC Florence Edor, said men of the fire service put off the fire while the FRSC rescue team from Nnewi Command and other security agencies managed the attendant traffic situations.

In another development, a Mack trailer with registration number XR 178 AGL, carrying a container, was involved in a lone-traffic crash at the Immigration junction in Anmabra State on Friday afternoon. It was gathered that two male adults were on board, but they did not sustain any injuries

Meanwhile, the sector commander, FRSC, Anambra State Command, CC Andrew A Kumapayi, has warned motorists to desist from over-speeding, especially in built-up areas to avoid preventable road traffic crash.
