Gbajabiamila, House Members Go On A ‘Tour’ Of Japan

The Speaker of the House of Representatives and some members of the house are due to depart the country for Japan on Wednesday.

The visit, which is based on an invitation extended to the speaker by the Japanese House of Representatives will last from November 6 to 11. 2019.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to speaker, Lanre Lasisi, during the visit, the speaker and his delegation are expected to meet with the Japanese Prime Minister, the House of Councillors’ President, Speaker of the Japanese House of Reps and observe the Japanese House of Representatives plenary.

The statement did not mention any objective of the trip beyond an attempt to mention that the trip is to foster friendly relations and mutual understanding between the two countries.

Part of the statement read: “Similarly, the speaker and members of the delegation are to attend a luncheon hosted by the Japan-Nigeria Parliamentary League of Friendship, visit the Future Creation Hub and the Japanese External Trade Organisation as well as a tour of Tokyo, among many other engagements.

“Other members of the delegation include Babajimi Adegoke Benson, Henry Okon Archibong, Muktar Mohammed Ahmed, Jaafar Abubakar Magaji and Abass Adekunle Adigun.”
