Generator Fume Kills Three Persons Inside Hotel In Rivers Community

Three persons were reportedly found dead on Monday Morning in a hotel at Elele Alimini, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

An eyewitness who is a resident of the area informed THE WHISTLER that the discovery was made on Monday morning.

The source revealed that five other guests were also found unconscious in the hotel after they inhaled fume from the generator which supplies power to the hotel.

The generator was said to have worked all through the night.

The eyewitness said,
“The victims, including the manager of the hotel, was found dead this morning after they had inhaled fume from the generator set that supplies power to the hotel.

“The generator functioned all through the night and it was said to have released heavy fume which suffocated the victims to death.

“Five other persons were found unconscious following the discovery and the police helped in admitting them to the hospital for medical attention.”

THE WHISTLER learnt that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Egbeada Police Division has invited the owner of the hotel for questioning.

When contacted, spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, told THE WHISTLER that he was yet to be briefed by the DPO incharge of the division.
