Gov Uzodinma Reaches Out To Sick Ace Broadcaster Ogechi Iwu

Succour might be on the way of ace broadcaster Ogechi Iwu, who has been down with advanced diabetes, as Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma Friday assured him of the state government’s support towards his quick recovery.

THE WHISTLER reports that the broadcaster, a staffer of Oziza FM, has been hospitalized at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owerri, with chronic diabetes, leading to the amputation of one of his legs.

The governor, who sent a delegation to Mr Iwu, led by his chief press secretary, Mr Oguwike Nwachuku, assured him of their prayers and support.

According to him, “I am here on behalf of my principal to associate with him (Iwu) in this time of health challenges, and to encourage him not to see the sickness as a death sentence.”

While calling on Mr Iwu to trust God for his total recovery, the CPS added that, ‘healing is a thing of the mind, and when a sick person is in a high spirit, the patient gets recovered quickly’, assuring him that Senator Uzodinma would, ‘in his usual manner of one with milk of human sympathy, show concern over Iwu’s plight’.

Responding, Mr Iwu thanked the CPS, the Imo State chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Chief Christopher Akaraonye, and other journalists who were on the entourage, for coming to identify with him on his sick bed, and assured that God in His infinite mercies would quicken his recovery.
