Gov Uzodinma Solicits Navy’s Support In Combating Bunkering, Crimes In Imo

The Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, Monday, solicited the support of the Nigerian Navy towards fighting oil bunkering and other crimes in the state. Senator Uzodinma stated this when he received Rear Admiral F. F. Ogu, the naval flag officer who paid him a courtesy visit at the Imo Government House in Owerri. Admiral Ogu was on a familiarization tour of the Nigerian Navy Finance and Logistics, Owerri Nta.

While acknowledging the support of various security agencies in curtailing crimes and criminalities in the state, the governor added that, “It is on record that crime has drastically gone down in Imo State owing to the security operatives’ many successes in busting criminal gangs and syndicates.”

This further highlights the efforts of the security agencies in efficiently discharging their duties in the state.”

In a speech, Rear Admiral Ogu thanked the Imo State government as well as the people of the state for their support to the Nigerian Navy, affirming that, ‘it is on record that the Imo State government is a partner in progress with the Nigerian Navy’.

He further pledged the support of the Nigerian Navy to the Imo State government in the fight against crimes and finally put an end to illegal oil bunkering and infrastructural sabotage in the state.

It would be recalled that the Imo State Police Command recently arrested the suspected killers of the operatives of the NDLEA in the state.
