Gov Wike Demolishes Two Hotels For Flouting Lockdown Directive
The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has demolished two hotels in the state for flouting the lockdown order.
Wike had directed all hotels in the state to suspend services as parts of measures to check the spread of COVID-19.
But on Sunday Prodest Hotel, Eleme, and and Etemeteh Hotel, Onne, were pulled down for going agianst the directives.
Wike was said to have personally supervised the demolition of the hotels.
The governor had warned residents that failure to comply with the order would attract stiff penalties.
