Gov Wike Enforces Lockdown On Highway, Sends Violators To Isolation Centres

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has ordered the transfer of lockdown violators to the state isolation centres.

In a video circulating online on Sunday, Wike, along with security personnel, was seen stopping vehicles on the the highway, asking the motorists, who they were and where they were headed.

Those who could not provide tangible answers and without face masks, were ordered to be taken to isolation centres.

He also accused policemen of sabotaging the efforts of the state government to halt the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Also, the governor ordered that vehicles of lockdown violators be auctioned and as well directed the demotion of two hotels in the state, who flouted the lockdown order.
