Happening Now: Buhari, Ministers Hold 13th virtual FEC Meeting

President Muhmmadu Buhari and ministers are meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, right now.

It’s the 13th virtual Federal Executive Council meeting.

The virtual meeting became the tradition since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is also attending the session, which opened some minutes ago.

As has been the tradition, the ministers with memos to present to FEC are physically present.

They include Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami; the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed; Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fasola; Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Olamilekan Adegbite; and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello.

Other top officials of government present at the State House are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha; the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari; and the National Security Adviser, Maj.-Gen Babagana Monguno (rted.).

Other ministers and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan, are participating in the meeting from their various locations virtually.

Details of deliberations at the closed-door meeting will be made available later in the day.
