Jubilation As Julius Berger Begins Reconstruction Of Popular Lagos Road

Construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria on Monday said the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Ijora Causeway link road in Lagos has commenced.

The Ijora Causeway link road is a major connection to the city’s jetty and port in Apapa, Idumota international market and Lagos Island area and is commonly known to be an eyesore during the rainy season because of the flooded nature of the area.

According to the management, the rehabilitation work which is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility spans for about two weeks.

Details of the reconstruction so far, shows that aspects of the road, especially under the Ijora Olopa bridge are being completely excavated while blocked drainages in the area are to be cleared to check recurring flooding.

Following the commencement, road users, as well as owners of businesses along the link road, lauded Julius Berger for the effort.

Roadside artisans like vulcanizers, petty traders and mechanics also expressed happiness as they envision more access to their businesses by potential customers on completion of the rehabilitation.
