A second case of the novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) has been confirmed in Bauchi State.
Commissioner for Health in the state, Aliyu Maigoro made the confirmation on Thursday during a press briefing in the state.
This is coming two days after Governor Bala Mohammed tested positive for the disease, and has since gone into self-isolation to prevent possible spread of the virus.
According to Channels TV, Maigoro disclosed that the latest case is a 62-year-old male and a close friend of Governor Mohammed.
Forty-eight (48) samples, the health commissioner noted, were taken for test and two have been confirmed positive.
While adding that 37 others returned negative, Maigoro said results of 9 samples were still pending.
He revealed that the ministry had begun contact tracing of the second case.
