JUST IN: CP Beneth Igwe Assumes Office, Says ‘Time Is Over’ For Criminals

The newly appointed Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP, Beneth Igwe assumed office on Friday.

His emergence as FCT CP comes amid a worsening security situation across the capital territory, especially the fringes of the city.

In an exclusive interaction with THE WHISTLER, CP Igwe revealed that there is a master plan to clamp down on the rising cases of kidnap and crime in the FCT.

“We have a master plan for the security of the FCT. I do not need to say it out,” he said briefly while preparing to address the press at the FCT Police Command in Abuja.

When asked to address perpetrators of crime in the FCT, CP Igwe said, “They should know that their time is over”.

CP Igwe, before his appointment was the FCT Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Operation, known by his colleagues for his antecedence and tenacity in executing the operational duties of the police.

He also doubles as the Commander of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) set by the Nigeria Police Force to combat crime and criminality in the capital territory.
