Recall that Beijing and the administration of US President Donald Trump had been at loggerheads on a number of economic issues.

This had lead to sanctions from both sides.

THE WHISTLER earlier reported that China’s foreign ministry spokesperson, Wang Wenbin, on November 13, stated that the Chinese government respected the choice of the American people in electing Biden.

But Trump, who has refused to concede defeat, continues to allege electoral fraud.
