Keyamo Attacks APC National Publicity Secretary For Joining PDP

The defection of Mr Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has drawn both commendations and condemnation.

In what undoubtedly came as a shock to many, Mr Bolaji reportedly deserted his job as the mouthpiece of the ruling APC and defected to opposition PDP.

The APC spokesperson’s defection was reportedly informed by Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki’s exit from the ruling party on Tuesday.

He is said to be flagrantly loyal to Saraki and had always been willing to give anything to prove his commitment to the Senate President. Meanwhile, Saraki’s exit from the APC comes exactly one week after the massive defections of over 48 federal lawmakers that hit the ruling party last week.

Reaction, however, to Bolaji’s defection to the opposition party, the PDP said in tweet: “The National Publicity Secretary of the failed and dysfunctional @APCNigeria, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has also returned home. @OfficialPDPNig. Congratulation and welcome home. More are coming. PDP! Power to the people”

Reacting also, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan said in a tweet late Tuesday: “I want to use this medium to congratulate my brother and colleague Mal. Bolaji Abdullahi for seeing the light, your decision to quit the APC is a welcome idea and good for democracy.”

Former Minister of Aviation, Dr Femi Fani-Kayode, reacted thus: “Glad to hear that my friend and brother, National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has dumped the APC. The Deputy Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, dumped the APC long ago. It appears that the APC is imploding. The few smart people that are there are leaving!”

But condemning Bolaji’s move, however, the Director, Strategic Communications of President Buhari 2019 Presidential Campaign, Mr Festus Keyamo SAN, slammed the erstwhile APC spokesperson for returning to “lick his vomit”.

Keyamo said in a Twitter reaction, “The real joke is not on those politicians who vomit at will and shamelessly return to lick their vomits. It’s on those Nigerians who hail & follow them back to vomits thinking it’s all about national interest. Any sane Party should be relieved to see the back of such characters

He added that, “The choice before Nigerians in 2019 has NEVER been this clearer: it is a choice between those who have returned to their vomits & are trying to package and sell it as porridge to Nigerians and those who have NEVER engaged in such disgusting enterprise of returning to lick their vomits”.
