Kidnapped Catholic Priest Found Dead In Niger

A kidnapped Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Minna, Reverend Father John Gbakaan Yaji, has been reportedly found dead in Niger State.

The body of the clergyman was discovered in an undisclosed location on Sunday after he was abducted on Friday.

Yaji was said to have been kidnapped alongside his brother on Friday night in Tufa village along Lambata-Lapai road on their way to his residence after a meeting in Lambata.

His brother’s whereabouts, however, remains unknown.

A Catholic Priest who confirmed the incident to The Nation said a manhunt had been launched towards rescue of the deceased’s younger brother.
