Markets Re-open In Rivers State

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has announced the re-opening of all markets in the State with effect from Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

Markets are to open from 7a.m and close at 6p.m daily and traders are to strictly adhere to Covid-19 safety protocols.

The governor, however stated that some major markets in the state would remain closed.

He said the “Rumukwurushe (Oil Mill) and Oginiba Slaughter Markets are to remain closed”

Wike said churches could now operate 50 percent of their hall capacity going forward.

“This measure is to enable our people have a relaxed state where they can access what they want amidst the epidemic,” he said.
