Mixed Reactions As Imo Governor Plans Upgrade Of State Hotel

Twitter reactions have followed a disclosure made by the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma, regarding the renovation of a state-owned hotel.

The governor tweeted on Thursday that his administration would transform the Imo Concorde Hotel Owerri, as part of the measures geared towards boosting the state’s revenue.

As part of the initiative to increase the revenue streams of the State and encourage public/private partnership, a MOU was signed with Marriot international Incorporated (MII) to renovate and manage Imo Concorde hotel in line with international best practices in hospitality. pic.twitter.com/61mgG946WO

He added that a Memorandum of Understanding had been signed with an American multinational diversified hospitality company that manages and franchises a wide range of hotels and related lodging facilities.

But some twitter users urged the governor not to lose sight of improving the condition of the state as well as create jobs, while others told him to be wary about diverting public funds in the name of projects.
