MTN Launches First Of Its Kind Digital TV Service In Nigeria

MTN Nigeria on Wednesday took a major step into broadcasting and media on Wednesday with the launch of its digital television broadcasting service in Jos, Plateau State.

According to the telecommunication giant, the Over-The-Top (OTT) service will bring together telecommunications, broadcasting and media on the same platform.

This new development is sequel to the N34 billion digital broadcast licence issued to the telecom company by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation in 2015.

“This will be the first fully converged broadcast and OTT-VOD service to launch in MTN,” Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, Ferdi Moolman said.

MTN is committed to providing Nigerians with innovative digital platforms which will enhance the way we live, work and play.

“Once we commence full commercial activities, the TV service will deliver an exciting bouquet of rich local and international content to Nigerians.
