Na’Allah Congratulates Emir Of Ilorin Over Appointment As 5th BUK Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor of University of Abuja, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah has congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari over his appointment as the 5th Chancellor Bayero University Kano(BUK).

Na’Allah, in a press release by the acting director, Information and University Relations of the University, Dr Habib Yakoob, stated that he was confident that the Emir’s appointment by the University was a testament to his exceptional leadership quality.

He said, “On behalf of the entire University of Abuja Community, I wish to congratulate you on your appointment as the 5th Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK) and your forthcoming investiture on Saturday 2nd March 2024.

“This appointment and investiture are, no doubt, a testament to your exceptional leadership quality, unwavering dedication to education, and esteemed contributions to the academic community.”

Na’Allah noted that the Emir’s distinguished service and commitment to the advancement of knowledge, proven track record of leadership abilities and capabilities had “undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping the educational landscape of your immediate community, in particular, and the nation, at large.”

He further stated that Gambari’s appointment to this esteemed position, not only reflected his personal accomplishments but also served as an inspiration to aspiring academics and leaders across the country.

“As the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, I am confident that your tenure at Bayero University Kano will be marked by continued excellence, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence and research, which we have seen you consistently demonstrate when carrying out related responsibilities,” Na’Allah said.

Since his installation as the 11th Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari had served as the chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State and the University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue State before his recent redeployment to BUK.

Na’Allah, who hails from Ilorin and has served as vice chancellor for almost 15 years, stated that he looks forward to witnessing the positive impact of the emir’s leadership on the academic community and beyond.
