Nabeeha and six of her siblings and their father, Al-Kadriyar, were kidnapped on January 2.

The kidnappers freed their father in order to look for N60 million they demanded as ransom.

They however killed Nabeeha few days later that the father delayed in paying the ransom.

The killing of Nabeeha, who was a 400-level student of Biological Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, received general condemnation forcing the government to set up a taskforce to tackle the spate of kidnappings and killings in the FCT.
