The student union leader said the matter was transfered to the Criminal Investigative Department at Iyaganku. He stated that he went to the CID and those who brought the case there labelled the slain student an armed robber.

He called on Governor Seyi Makinde to order a thorough investigation into the case, saying the governor has said he should be held responsible for any crime committed by the Amotekun during the inauguration of the security outfit.

He said, “A 400level student of University of Ibadan affiliated with Federal College of Education, Oyo(special); Akolade Gbadebo,  was shot dead by a member of the Amotekun corps last Thursday.

” We went to Iyaganku and to our surprise the police said the case that was reported was armed robbery and cultism. We want a thorough investigation to be carried out into it.”

However, the Information Officer of the Amotekun in the state, Mrs Ayolola Adedoja, when contacted said there was nothing like that.
