Gauraka community is about five kilometers away from the Federal Capital City (FCT), and there are speculations that Boko Haram terrorists may have infiltrated the area.

In April, Governor Abubakar Bello announced that terrorists had hoisted their flags in some communities in the state.

Niger State with a land area of 76,363km, has witnessed a long thread of kidnapping and violent attacks in the last few months. Residents are said to be constantly living in fear with no knowledge of who may be the next victim.
