The Niger State Government has constituted a committee on the reopening of schools in the state.
Commissioner for Education in the state, Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu, disclosed this in a statement.
The committee made up of 19 associations/groups would work to reopen schools in a coordinated way that takes both public health and economic development into consideration.
The committee is headed by Lemu while Umar Faruk Suleiman would serve as the Committee’s secretary.
Salihu said the plan would provide different scenarios for what school openings could look like and would feature recommendations based on the public health reality in Niger State.
It would also provide guidance to school leaders about what actions would be needed to ensure the safety of students and teachers once they return.
The committee would be comprised of the Ministry of Education, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Parents Teachers Association, Proprietors of Private School, Ministry of Health, and representatives of administrators, educators, health experts and community stakeholders.
Salihu urged the committee to map out modalities and safety guides to be strictly adhered to for the reopening of schools while taking into cognizance the safety of children, tutors, school administrators, and all the stakeholders of the sector in line with NCDC health guidelines.

Teachers professional Training’ Institute.
