No Going Back On Biafra, IPOB Tells MEND

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in what seems to be a note of warning has told the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) to stop making deceitful, baseless statements as there is no going back on the Biafra struggle.

A statement released on Monday and jointly signed by IPOB’s Emma Mmezu and Dr Clifford Iroanya, accused MEND of working with the federal government to frustrate the Biafra agitation.

IPOB which also renamed MEND, as the Movement For the Enslavement of the Niger Delta said they won’t betray its arrested members including Nnamdi Kanu.

The group accused MEND of exhausting the blood money they made through kidnappings, murder and accepting amnesty from their slave masters for the crimes they committed against Biafran people.

The full statement reads, “This movement (MEND) is back to what it does best having obviously exhausted the blood money they made through kidnappings, murder and accepting amnesty from their slave masters for the crimes they committed against Biafran people.

“Wonders shall never end. How can the Movement For The Enslavement Of The Niger Delta ever imagine that the Indigenous People of Biafra led by “Onyendu” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will throw its honor to the dogs by allowing itself and its honorable objective of securing the freedom of the Biafran people be tainted by group of murderers and self-acclaimed criminals?

“The indigenous people of Biafra IPOB under the leadership of “Onyendu” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a movement propelled by a clear ideology and the quest for the restoration of the sovereignty of Biafran Nation cannot I repeat cannot be compromised, cannot be watered down in any form or shape and cannot be exchanged by your so called “freedom”.

“The indigenous people of Biafra IPOB have seen groups like you who masquerade as champions of the interest of the Biafran people but are in reality instruments at the hands of the enemy.

“It is very obvious from their paid advert that the Movement for the Enslavement of the Niger Delta has no clue of what the indigenous people of Biafra IPOB under the leadership of “Onyendu” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is all about. We are not a secret society. Transparency is our watchword we do not enter into secret agreements or negotiations with acclaimed criminals and enemies of the Biafran people.

“The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by “Onyendu” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will not allow itself to be distracted by irritating house flies and publicity seeking agents of enslavement of the Biafra people. Our focus is total freedom of our people from the contraption called Nigeria, our objective is the restoration of the sovereignty of the Biafran nation and our determination is set in stone.”

Recall that MEND released a statement on Monday accusing Kanu of secretly denying Biafra, urging him to make the statement publicly for him to regain freedom.

MEND’s statement read: “We urge the already frustrated and desperate Mr. Kanu and IPOB to swallow their pride and make a public denunciation of Biafra so that the gullible donors and followers, deceived by the illusion of a Biafra Republic that aims to annex the Niger Delta region as part of its territory, shall become fully aware that the so-called Biafra Republic is merely a business venture and scam whose sole beneficiaries are Kanu, directors of IPOB and their families and cronies.

“Hereby, uses this opportunity to inform the entire world that following the group’s ongoing negotiations with the Federal Government, Nnamdi Kanu has made it clear that he is willing to renounce Biafra in secret; in exchange for his freedom.

“And the Federal Government have, however, flatly rejected the IPOB/Kanu’s hypocrisy to remain defiant in public while accepting to secretly renounce secession.”

Kanu is standing trial for treason, management of unlawful group, smuggling of radio transmitters and firearms.

He had lost previous appeals to stop the trial. His trial resumes on September 26 2016.
