NPFL: Giwa FC Appeal LMC Expulsion

Giwa FC has appealed to the League Management Company on its expulsion from the Nigerian Professional Football League.

The Jos Elephants were last week expelled from the NPFL by the LMC as a result of their failure to honour three league games, which is in violation of Rule B13.28 of the NPFL Rules and Framework.

They were forced to Ilorin following crowd trouble that marred their Matchday 12 game against Rangers at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos.

Following their expulsion the LMC cancelled points won or lost against Giwa FC and the club effectively dropped to the bottom of the 2015/16 Table.

In letter sent to the LMC dated May 21, 2016, Secretary of the Giwa FC, Samson Adamu acknowledged the decision but also notified the league management company of the clubs decision to reject the ruling and appeal same.

The letter read, “The above subject matter refers. We are in receipt of your letter of 20th May, 2016 on the above subject matter. We hereby notify you that we do not accept any of the sanctions imposed on our club and further add that we elect to be dealt with by a commission.”

By this notice of appeal, the LMC said Giwa FC “will now appear before the relevant authority in the coming days to hear their appeal,” however, no date has been announced for the hearing.
