Offa Robbery: Bank Sacks Staff Over CCTV Footage Leakage

One of the commercial banks affected by the Offa robbery in Kwara state has sacked five of its staff over the disclosure of Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the robbery to the public.

According to PUNCH, the bank management saw the release of the footage as a ‘’gross indiscipline ‘’ as it was without an official approval, thus stating that it placed the bank at risk as it may affect the security image of the bank.

Recall THE WHISTLER on Friday, April 6th reported that gunmen raided five banks In Offa, Kwara state, leaving no fewer than 10 people dead with a pregnant policewoman inclusive.

The operation was reported to have lasted for several hours without any resistance from the police or the army.

After some weeks the CCTV footage of the attack was made public, leaving the bank management shocked at how the video got into public space.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Police spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi, said the Nigeria Police Force would deal with anyone linked to the robbery. Okasanmi said both civilians and uniformed men linked to the incident would be punished.
