PDP Pulls Out Of Kano LG Election

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kano State chapter, has withdrawn from participating in the local government election slated for January 16th 2021, saying it does not have confidence in the process.

The party said as the main opposition in the state, “we cannot give credibility to an election that has a prearranged outcome ,an election conducted by a government that stole our mandate.”

Making the assertion on Tuesdsy ,the chairman ,PDP, Caretaker Committee, Alhaji Danladi Umar Abdulhameed ,while addressing a press conference in Kano, said,”let me once again reiterated that the Kano State government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje cannot conduct a free and fair election. “

According to him, “the state government and the governor lack the political morality to do so. Therefore, our party ,the PDP will not participate in the sham of an election come January 16th 2021.”

Speaking further, he said “the PDP and indeed the people of Kano can not forget how Governor Ganduje and the APC in connivance with electoral officials used hoodlums and political thugs as well as security agents to intimidate voters and disenfranchise the populace during the 2019 general election that fraudulently brought the Ganduje administration into office by also manipulating the judiciary”

“Furthermore, the conduct of the Ganduje administration in the build up to January local government election and how the APC members have turned the electoral process into a-do-die affairs.”
