Police Arrest 13 Suspected Cultists In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 13 suspected cultists for allegedly causing the recent mayhem in the Ikorodu and Mushin parts of the state.

The State Police Public Relation Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi revealed this in a statement on Thursday.

He identified four of the suspects as Popoola Michael, Daniel Adome, Kayode Thomson and Taiwo Okiki, all 18 years old, arrested on November 8.

Nine other suspected cultists identified as a Segun James, Agbelusi Sunday, Kareem Ishola, Opeyemi Oderinde, Olasojo Gbolahan, Ayodele Olasukanmi, and Otubu Samson and Kayode Agoro who are members of the Aiye confraternity were also arrested 24 hours later.

The suspects were accused of being members of the Omo Kasari Confraternity and were arrested for causing mayhem in the Mushin area of Lagos State as well as responsible for threatening the peace and security of residents in Ikorodu.

Exhibit recovered from the suspects include locally made guns, live cartridges, axes, cutlasses, charms and some other offensive weapons.

The police noted that the command would not tolerate the activities of cultists and hoodlums threatening the peace and security of Lagosians.
