Men of the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) have reportedly besieged the residences of Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Dr Ike Ekweremadu on Tuesday morning in Abuja.
According to reports, some policemen also blocked the convoy of the Senate President at Lake Chad Junction, Maitama, in Abuja this morning.
While it remains unclear why Saraki and Ekweremadu’s residences were surrounded by the security operatives, it would be recalled that the Senate President had been summoned on Monday to appear at the police headquarters in Abuja to respond to further questions relating to allegations against him in the robbery attack that cost of 30 lives in Offa, Kwara State, recently.
The police and DSS operatives were said to have left Saraki’s residence after finding out that the Senate President had already left the premises before they got there, but that Ekweremadu’s residence is still currently under siege.
