Police Confirm Abduction Of 4 Catholic Seminarians In Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of four catholic seminarians of the Good Shephard Major Seminary at Kakau village along the Kaduna-Abuja highway by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

Spokesman of the command, Yakubu Sabo confirmed this during an interview on Channels TV.

According to Sabo, the gunmen invaded the seminary through a porous point and started shooting sporadically and thereafter abducted four students from their hostels.

The police spokesman revealed that more students would have been abducted if not for the timely response of its personnel, noting that the force has launched a manhunt of the kidnappers with the view to arresting them and rescuing the victims.

The Registrar of the Seminary, Rev. Joel Usman had also confirmed the incident to journalists.

“Good Shepherd Major Seminary was attacked by armed bandits on January 8, 2020, between 10.30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

“After the headcount of the students with security agents, four seminarians have been declared missing. Kindly say a prayer for their release,” Usman was quoted as saying.
