Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has hit out at Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, over comments the governor made on the outbreak of Cerebro Spinal Meningitis, CSM, in the country.
Mr. Yari, on Tuesday claimed that the outbreak of “stereotype C” meningitis which has claimed the lives of at least 336 people across Nigeria, was God’s punishment for people’s’ sin.
Onochie while criticizing the governor, advised him to educate himself on the menace first before coming out to speak, as he is not a medical personnel.
She further described Yari’s statement as that of an ignorant and misinformed leader, wondering how he became governor of Zamfara State.
I think it becomes a case of the ignorance and the misinformed. And I continue to wonder how such people attained political relevance. https://t.co/dorLn5Zhdi

Unfortunately, 336 deaths have also been recorded,” Lawal Bakare, a spokesperson of the NCDC said.
