PTF Urges Nigerians To Go For COVID-19 Test

The Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, on Monday called on Nigerians not to be afraid of undertaking the Coronavirus (COVID-19) test, especially when they have symptoms of the virus.

Chairman of the taskforce, Boss Mustapha, made the call during a briefing of the taskforce in Abuja on Monday.

According to Mustapha, COVID-19 is not a death sentence.

“Nigerians should not be afraid of undertaking the COVID-19 test, especially if they have the symptoms of the disease. COVID-19 is not a death sentence.”

He said the high number of confirmed cases in the country in recent times, signify that more testings have been carried out.

He said the best strategy remains to test, dictate and isolate and treat, which has been responsible for the expansion of laboratory networks across the country, which currently stands at 38.

He also conveyed the directive of the PTF for more awareness to be created, most importantly in the areas of how and where to get tested.

The Secretary of the Government of the Federation further noted that the declaration of Nigeria as polio free was a welcome development, adding that it was a signal that overcoming COVID in the country was achievable.
