Singer Spyro Asks Colleagues To Speak Up Against Economic hardship

Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, known professionally as Spyro, made an appeal to his fellow entertainers on Thursday not to remain silent in the face of Nigeria’s ongoing economic crisis.

Spyro urged his fellow celebrities to use their platforms to address the ongoing economic crisis in the country.

The “Who’s Your Guy” crooner took to Instagram on Thursday to express his disappointment at the silence of many entertainers amidst the ‘#EndBadGovernance’ protests that have gripped the nation.

Nigerians initiated the 10-day demonstration to call for immediate action to alleviate the hardships faced by ordinary citizens.

With citizens facing soaring prices and dire economic conditions, Spyro said it is insensitive to continue posting entertainment content while many citizens languish in poverty.

He wrote, “I personally think it is quite insensitive to post anything entertainment rn… The Country is bleeding and we all are affected whether or not we agree to that fact,” he wrote.

“I am very much affected. I particularly feel the pain of the average man and I don’t intend to keep mute so I am calling on everyone with a platform to speak up…

“I am hoping that the government will see our tears this time and take actual steps for the betterment of the people”
