The Kano State Government ordered the closure of Hassan Ibrahim Gwarzo, a private boarding School, over allegations of sodomy.

Acting Governor of the state, Professor Hafiz Abubakar has directed that the school be sealed to diffuse tension as well as pave way for investigation.

Abubakar further announced a 14-member committee under the leadership of Prof Abubakar Mustapha to investigate the allegations with a two week timeline to support the report.

The issue, our correspondent learnt, has expectedly created panic amongst guardians and parents of the private boarding school.

The matter came to fore following a heart touching story aired by private radio station on alleged rampant cases of sodomy in the college in which a 9 year old JSS student of the college claimed he was overpowered and sexually violated by unknown persons.

Our correspondent further learnt that the Kano police command has launched a full blown criminal inquest to unravel the mystery surrounding the sexual assault in the male boarding school.
