Buhari Gaining Popularity Among Niger Deltans – Senator Abe

Senator Magnus Ngei Abe of Rivers South West has hailed the people of Niger Delta for President Muhammadu Buhari’s rising popularity in the region.

Senator Abe, in an interview with NTA International, attributed President Buhari’s popularity in the region to the current administration’s recent interactions with people of Niger Delta.

Abe noted particularly that Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo’s visit to many parts of the region had helped bridge the gap between the Buhari administration and elders from the region.

“So, I think anybody who is aware of the level of engagement between the Niger Delta and the present administration will not be surprised to see the Niger Delta people coming out strongly in favour of this administration,” the senator was quoted as saying.

Speaking also on the upcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primaries in Anambra, Senator Abe said:

“The party is working very hard because they realize the eyes of Nigerians are on the APC to know what we are going to make of the challenges of internal democracy within the party”.

He said the APC has been managing its internal democracy to the satisfaction of party members, assuring that the party will deliver same to the people of Anambra.

Senator Abe, who spoke further on job opportunities being created under the current administration, said, “As we speak today, thousands if not millions of Nigerians are making a new living from the opportunities that is being offered in that sector of the economy”.
